Manilow In Concert
Radio City Music Hall
New York, NY
December 31, 1985
Hi everyone
Well, this video is a real special one.
New Years Eve at Radio City Music Hall, New York City,1985.
Playing Radio City is always a major event for me. It always means more to me than any other venue because my family would take me to see the Christmas show there nearly every year.
Standing on that magnificent stage is always a surreal experience for me. I always remember sitting in the second balcony, watching the amazing production.
It always stuns me to think that I’m headlining there.
I opened the show on that night riding the elevator section of the stage from three stories below to the stage level.
From three stories below, I could hear the applause begin very softly and as the elevator rose, the applause got louder and louder until the stage stopped and the applause was deafening.
We opened the show that night with Cole Porter’s “I Happen To Like New York”, one of my favorite songs.
It was a wild show and even thought the quality of the video isn’t great, you’ll get the idea. Happy Holiday and a great New Year to all of you.
Love,
Barry

Hi Everyone,
This month’s MTV is a very appropriate one.
Since we’re celebrating our 500th show (!!) at the Westgate (Las Vegas Hilton), this month's MTV takes place the very first time we performed on that stage.
500 shows! Wow!
It was January 12th, 1988 and we were near the beginni... -

This month’s Manilow TV is an oldie but a goodie (just like me!).
It’s a really decent quality video of our first time in Atlantic City at the Resorts International.
We had sold out the show within hours and the demand for tickets was so great that they had to place TV monitors in three sep...
