Hi everyone,
This month’s ManilowTV is Act II of The Concert at Blenheim Palace and it’s a real rare one.
Act II ran much longer than the BBC version of the concert so it includes a batch of songs that have never been seen.
It also includes all of the encores that weren’t on any of the previously released versions.
Watching this version of the concert really gives the viewer a sense of the enormity and the emotion of that night.
As I watched this Act, I kept thinking, “How on earth did you get through this show?”
It’s one thing to be involved with a rock n’ roll or jazz concert that’s in front of a big crowd and feel the excitement. But this concert was huge in every way and yet intimate and emotional at the same time.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a concert like it.
I remember going in and out from feeling incredibly happy and full of joy to trying to stop myself from blubbering like a fool.
Sometimes both emotions hit me during one song! I’d never felt anything like it.
There I was, this young guy, all alone on that stage being bombarded with a hurricane of genuine feelings of love and joy coming at me all night long.
I really don’t know how I got through this show.
Watch this act. You’ll see what I mean.
Love,
Barry
