Hi Everyone,
This episode is one that we've gotten many requests for.
It's the first "Live By Request" show we did, back in December of 1996 after I recorded the "Summer Of '78" album.
I don't think A&E has that series anymore, but I thought it was a great idea. And as for me and my band, we loved doing it.
The concept was exactly what the title says it is: We were live. Taking requests from the TV audience all over the country and from one or two people in the live audience.
My band and I had been on tour for a while when we did this show, so we were prepared to do any song that was thrown at us.
We had to be very sharp and on our toes. It was great fun for all of us.
I loved that concept so much, that a few years later we created the "clicker" tour, where members of the audience would tell us what they wanted to hear and we'd do the song.
I think it's an exciting show and I'm so glad we can fill this request.
Love,
Barry
