Hi Everyone,
You know, I think the “Clicker Tour” is my favorite tour of all the tours I ever did.
This show comes from the late show at Foxwoods Resorts Casino in Ledyard, CT on August 2nd, 1997.
We had been touring with the show for months, so we were in great shape. It’s as close to a “one man show” as I’ve ever done. I’m very proud of it.
The band and I never knew what songs we were going to do, which made it so exciting. There were only five guys in the band, and they sounded like a full orchestra (listen to “As Time Goes By”).
We were all at the top of our game. The musicians were brilliant. AND, they sang! No background singers.
Even the crew and the sound and light guys needed to be sharp because of the complicated “Wheel ‘O Barry”.
Our monitor guys and Ken Newman, our genius house mixer, also had to be as quick as they could because the songs kept changing.
And I loved it because it challenged me as a musician, an actor and a singer/dancer.
Marc and Chris found a really wonderful representation of that tour for this month’s MTV.
The highlights for me are “I’m Gonna Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter”, my arrangement of “Never My Love/I Swear’, “As Time Goes By” and “Forever And A Day”.
I hope you like it as much as I do.
Love,
Barry

Big Fun On Swing Street TV Special
Hi Everyone,
This month’s Manilow TV is my favorite of all the network specials that we did.
It’s called “Big Fun on Swing Street” and it’s very hard to find. It aired on CBS on March 7, 1988, a couple months after we released the “Swing Street” album.
Bruce, Jack and I wrote a concept hour fo...
