For this month's Manilow TV I found a very special show Britain buried in the vault that I have to share with you.
Britain and I have had a very special love affair.
It started with my first visit to the UK in 1978
and continued in 1982 on my 3rd visit.
We played five nights in January at Royal Albert Hall
and recorded the shows for a live album that came out
two weeks later and entered the UK charts at #1!
This month’s video is the entire concert before it was edited down for the LP release.
There are some great songs in this set list that I've very rarely performed, including “London” (with a new lyric at the top) the wonderful “Nickels and Dimes”, “Break Down The Door”, “If I Should Love Again”, “Sunday Father” and the debut of “Stay” with Kevin DiSimone and James Jolis.
Since we’re nearly on our way back to the UK I thought you would enjoy this show.
It brought back some great memories.
See you soon.
Love,
Barry
