This month’s ManilowTV might actually be the number one thrilling experience of my career.
It’s the full, un-edited video of The Concert At Blenheim Palace – Act I.
As many of you know, in 1983 we were invited to use the gigantic meadow on the grounds of Blenheim Palace in Britain for a concert and recorded it for a TV special on BBC-TV.
We built a tremendous stage, used a huge orchestra and choir, and did our show there on a surprisingly lovely summer August day.
We were expecting 10,000 people. 50,000 people showed up!
Running out on that stage and seeing the size of the crowd took my breath away. I still don’t know how I got through that show.
Because of the time limits for the BBC-TV show, we had to edit out a handful of songs that we performed.
They’re all included here on Part I and next month on Part II.
